MANILA, Philippines — Liberal Party’s vice presidential bet Camarines Sur Rep. Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo emerged as the winner of the second vice presidential debate organized by ABS-CBN last Sunday.

The Bilang Pilipino Social Weather Stations Mobile Survey conducted on April 18, 2016 revealed that 33 percent of the 632 respondents who watched the second vice-presidential debate chose Robredo as the winner.

The number of respondents, however, were only half of the original nationally representative sample of 1,200 validated voters, representing Metro Manila, balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The poll also showed that 66 percent of Filipino voters watched the second vice presidential debate.

Robredo was followed by vice presidential candidate Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero with 28 percent. Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano came third with 27 percent and Sen. Antonio Trillanes with only 5 percent.

Two other vice presidential candidates Sens. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan skipped the debate due to prior commitments. Marcos celebrated his 23rd wedding anniversary while Honasan attended a campaign rally in Cotabato City.

The respondents were drawn using standard SWS sampling procedures, and was first interviewed face-to-face from March 8 to 11, 2016 to become the panel for the mobile survey.

They were also invited and had then agreed, to be members of a panel of respondents to receive and answer to a few survey questions each day using mobile phones provided to them for free by Starmobile.

For the second vice presidential debate, the respondents were asked the following questions:  "Have you watched the last Vice-Presidential Debate this April 17, 2016? (Yes, No, Don’t know);"  "In your opinion, who came out the best during the Vice-Presidential Debate last April 17, 2016? [Sa iyong palagay, sino ang lumabas na pinakamahusay sa Vice-Presidential Debate noong Abril 17, 2016?]."

Escudero was the chosen winner of the respondents in the first vice presidential debate held at the University of Santo Tomas last April 10.
