WATCH: Palace says Grace channeled 'inner Chiz,’ Duterte a comic during debate

MANILA, Philippines – The Palace on Monday commented at other candidates’ performance during the first presidential debate.

After congratulating the presidential candidates during a press briefing on Monday, Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Undersecretary Manuel Quezon III commented on each candidate’s performance, noting that Sen. Grace Poe expressed her answers like her running mate Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero while Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte charmed the public with his answers.

“I believe many people were impressed in the ability of Senator (Grace) Poe to channel her inner (Sen. Francis) Escudero (her running mate) to answer the questions. And the same applies for (Davao City) Mayor (Rodrigo) Duterte, who was able to inject moments of enjoyment for a lot of the viewers and who spent much time very graciously agreeing with everyone else that he was debating with,” Quezon said.

Meanwhile, Quezon praised Liberal Party's bet Manuel "Mar" Roxas II for his performance.
